Ipswich City Council's electoral arrangements and divisional boundaries were reviewed in 2019, prior to the last election.

As part of that review by the Local Government Change Commission (Change Commission), a mid-term review was recommended to "gauge residents' experiences and satisfaction with the multi-member arrangement and divisional boundaries".

The Change Commission considered the views of the community, received via written submissions during the consultation period in November 2022, and matters prescribed under Part 3, Division 2 of the Local Government Act 2009.

The written submissions can be viewed here.

Outcome

In February 2023, the Change Commission recommended that there be no change to the current electoral arrangements of the Ipswich City Council.

A final report on the outcome has been provided to the Minister responsible for Local Government.

This review and consultation was coordinated by the Electoral Commission Queensland.
