Project updates

Thank you to everyone who submitted an expression of interest to become an external advisor for the Multicultural Advisory Committee.

Council received 34 applications during the EOI period, of which six have been officially appointed as external advisors to its Multicultural Advisory Committee.

Background

Our Multicultural Advisory Committee was formed in May 2025 as a platform to engage with Ipswich’s multicultural communities and help shape the many initiatives, projects and support services that Ipswich City Council provides.

The Expression of Interest process has led to the succesful appointment of six community members as external advisors to the Multicultural Advisory Committee. The six external advisors appointed are:

  • Ms Gail Ker
  • Mr Thiew Atem
  • Dr Aparna Hebbani
  • Mr Ponga Whakatihi Pompey
  • Dr Mahan Mohammadi
  • Mr Bakari Mustafa.
