Background

Ti Tree Bioenergy provides Ipswich City Council an annual payment as a result of a court ordered development condition issued in 2002. This condition guides the eligibility of projects that can be funded by this payment.

This form is intended for the proposal of eligible projects to be managed by Ipswich City Council that aim to mitigate both perceived and real social and environmental impacts resulting from the activities at the Ti Tree Bioenergy Landfill Facility located on Champions Way, Willowbank (the site).

Priority will be given to projects that effectively address local (within a 5km radius) environmental and social impacts, provide multiple offsets for the increased waste and environmental effects due to population growth, and offer multiple benefits across environmental and social aspects. Projects located within the district (within 10km) or broader Ipswich Local Government Area, and those with a low to medium impact relative to the preferred criteria, will still be considered eligible but ranked lower in priority.

Acknowledgement of Country

Ipswich City Council respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners, the Jagera, Yuggera and Ugarapul People of the Yugara/Yagara Language Group, as custodians of the land and waters we share. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, as the keepers of the traditions, customs, cultures and stories of proud peoples.
