What is the Memorabilia Project?
Since the dismissal of the former Council in 2018, we have identified, catalogued and stored a large number of items either purchased with Council monies, donated to Council, or were temporarily in the possession of Council.
It was determined in March 2021 by the newly elected Council that these items be sold via auction, returned to the original owner, or donated to community groups and charities.
Proceeds from auction/s will be committed to a special community funding program.
Council would like you to help
We recognise there are some items in the catalogue which should be returned to the original donor. Council is seeking feedback from the community where you either know the identity of the owner, or wish to claim a donated item back yourself. Council will then undertake a process to verify ownership of the item prior to handing the item back.
All requests were to to be submitted to council by Sunday 21 November, 2021.
Thank you for your submissions and feedback we have received your request and are reviewing the claims.
View and claim the Memorabilia Items that have not been auctioned
Council would like to invite members of the public interested in claiming memorabilia items which were not suitable for auction and are still available to claim. The event will be held over three days. Community groups and not-for-profit organisations from the Ipswich region will be invited to attend the first two days (13th and 14th December) and general public will be invited to attend the session on the third day (15th December).
