Background

As a key connecting thoroughfare for Ipswich Central, renewing d'Arcy Doyle Place is a key step to enhance access and awareness of surrounding historical buildings, entry to the Ipswich Art Gallery and Ipswich Civic Centre while showcasing Ipswich's heritage and culture, and to promote the Nicholas Street Spine (South of Brisbane Street) as the Cultural Heart of Ipswich.

The project was identified in the Top of Town and Centre Core Place Plans in 2021 and aligns with other council strategies including:

Community engagement - round 1

The first round of community engagement has now closed and you can see a summary of what you told us below. Thank you to everyone who participated in the community engagement. We will now use this feedback to inform the preliminary concept design. This will then be shared with the community for feedback in mid-2024.
